    Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat to return in summer 2020

    The revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s smash hit musical once again proved itself a phenomenal success when it opened for a 10-week run at the iconic London Palladium in summer 2019. With newcomer Jac Yarrow making a huge name for himself and quickly becoming a favourite amongst Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat fans, the question of whether he will return along with the production next year in summer 2020 is one that eagerly awaits confirmation.

    Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat returns to the London Palladium

    Of course, numerous productions of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat have toured vastly but the London Palladium is recognised as being the home to Webber and Rice’s beloved musical. This was no exception when the 2019 revival was announced, with many established fans being excited to return to the renowned theatre. After the outstanding success the revival, directed by Laurence Connor (School of Rock, Miss Saigon), received, a return was as anticipated as it was hoped for. Thankfully, we can now say that Joseph! will be returning next year, opening on 2 July 2020, with performances running until 6 September 2020.

    Jac Yarrow and the Joseph! Cast

    In the 2019 production, the revival of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat saw the return of Joseph! legend Jason Donavon in the role of the Pharaoh and BAFTA and Olivier Award-winning Sheridan Smith in the active role of the Narrator. In his professional debut was Jac Yarrow who won the hearts of thousands, and also The Stage Debut Award, with his portrayal of the title role. The casting for 2020 is yet to be announced, leaving us in anticipation of whether Yarrow will once again don the multicoloured coat.     It all began as a 15-minute piece in a London school and was later released as a concept album. From these humble beginnings, Webber and Rice’s show became one of the most well-known and, of course, well-loved musicals of all time. 50 years since it began, and the multi-award-winning show has earned a place in the hearts of critics and the public alike, time and time again. It still remains a family favourite today, spanning across generations and entertaining those of all ages.
