Touching The Void West End cast announced

Following sell-out runs at the Royal Lyceum Theatre in Edinburgh, the Bristol Old Vic, and the Royal & Derngate in Northampton, the critically-acclaimed stage play Touching The Void is set to premiere in London's West End on 9 November for a 16-week run that is booking until 29 February 2020.

Today it was confirmed that original cast members Josh Williams (One Night in Miami), Patrick McNamee (The History Boys) and Fiona Hampton (Much Ado About Nothing at Shakespeare's Globe) will be reprising their roles as Joe, Richard, and Sarah respectively.

The trio will be joined by newcomer Angus Yellowlees, who is set to portray the role of Simon, marking his professional stage debut.

    Touching The Void play synopsis

Adapted by David Grieg from Joe Simpson's gripping memoir, this tear-jerking play tells the tale of Simpson's seemingly innocent mountaineering trip in the Peruvian Andes gone horribly wrong. After suffering a broken right leg and other severe injuries, Simpson was thought to have perished after falling into a crevasse. His survival instincts kicked in, however, as he managed to crawl back to base camp.
