Marina Sirtis is best known for playing Deanna Troi on Star Trek: The Next Generation

Michael Dennis’s new play, Dark Sublime, is a love letter to both sci-fi fans and sci-fi actors alike. It follows Oli, a die-hard fan of an old sci-fi TV show, who shows up at the front doorstep of the show’s long forgotten icon, Marianne (played by Marina Sirtis). He came for her autograph but Marianne, now a jobbing actress, wants to be remembered for more than just her role on a cult television programme. As the two chat and get to know one another, they discover that their worlds are not so far apart after all.

There’s no better actress to fill the role of Marianne than Marina Sirtis, who not only starred in Star Trek: The Next Generation, but also reprised her role as Troi in many of the show’s feature-length films, including Star Trek Generations, Star Trek First Contact, Star Trek Insurrection, and Star Trek Nemesis, as well as in three episodes of Star Trek: Voyager and the series finale of Star Trek: Enterprise.

Dark Sublime will be directed by Andrew Keates, a lover of sci-fi himself who most recently directed Dessa Rose and As Is at Trafalgar Studios. Michael Dennis, a stage manager-turned-playwright who wrote Dark Sublime, said, “I’m looking forward to audiences experiencing the birth of a whole galaxy of real emotion and radiophonic sound effects in Trafalgar Studios this summer.”

Michael Dennis’ Dark Sublime was originally in the works for a Bush Theatre premiere but is now coming straight to London’s West End! The latest highly acclaimed show to transfer from the Bush Theatre to the West End’s Trafalgar Studios was Arinzé Kene’s Misty.

Dark Sublime opens on 25 June 2019 at Trafalgar Studios 2 and is booking until 3 August 2019.

Tickets to Dark Sublime starring Marina Sirtis are on sale now! Don’t miss out on the debut play by Michael Dennis, which is bound to be the surprise smash-hit of the summer!
