The Back to the Future world premiere cast

Set to join Olly Dobson as Marty McFly in the Manchester Opera House premiere of Back to the Future are Cedric Neal (Chess) as Goldie Wilson, Rosanna Hyland (School of Rock, Shrek The Musical at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, Sister Act The Musical at the London Palladium, Carousel at The Savoy) as Lorraine Baines, and Hugh Coles (The Festival, Urban Myths: The Mysterious Disappearance of Agatha Christie) as George McFly.

The musical is directed by John Rando (Urinetown) and is based on the cult classic 1985 film of the same name, which starred Christopher Lloyd as Doc and Michael J. Fox as Marty McFly. When Marty accidentally travels back in time, he must ensure his parents fall in love or risk ceasing to exist altogether.

The show's most notable toe-tapping numbers include "Johnny B Goode" and "The Power of Love", both of which can be heard in the original blockbuster sensation. The musical is produced by Colin Ingram (Ghost The Musical) and the original film's creators, Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale.
