It has been announced that Adam Kay has added two additional dates to his initial 3 show run of This is Going to Hurt (Secret Diaries of a Junior Doctor) at the Garrick Theatre. The Wednesday evening and Saturday matinee shows have been added due to overwhelming demand.
Adam Kay is a British comedian, comedy writer, and actor turned author. Kay went to medical school where he founded a musical comedy troupe. He eventually began to work as an obstetrician and gynaecologist, a career that he left after a particularly traumatizing event. While a junior doctor Kay was advised to keep a journal so he could review past cases.
This journal became the basis for his first book. His Garrick show, This is Going to Hurt (Secret Diaries of a Junior Doctor), is based on that Sunday Times Bestselling book. This is Going to Hurt spent more than 4 months at number one and more than seven in the top ten. It has been translated into over twenty languages and has reached best-seller status abroad. Kay is currently adapting his book into an eight-part series for the BBC. This is Going to Hurt will be available for purchase and signature after the performances.
