    New musical Broken Wings set to premiere at the Theatre Royal Haymarket

    Broken Wings, which is co-written by Nadmi Naaman (The Phantom of the Opera) and composer Dana Al Fardan and based on the autobiography of the same name by Lebanese-American poet Kahlil Gibran, is set to premiere on the West End stage for a very limited engagement in August.

    The musical is set in New York City in 1923 and follows Gibran as he reminisces his life as an 18-year-old in the Middle East, where he falls in love with the daughter of a family friend, Selma Karamy. When Karamy becomes engaged to another man, Gibran must battle for her affection.

    The semi-staged show with a nine-piece orchestra is set to be directed by Bronagh Lagan (Little Women) and will feature orchestrations by Joe Davison. A concept album is to be released on 10 May 2018.

    Broken Wings is scheduled to run at the Theatre Royal Haymarket from 1 to 4 August 2018. Stay tuned for ticket information.
