New casting announced for the West End production of Wicked

Something wicked this way comes! New casting has been announced for the London production of Wicked, which is now playing at the West End's Apollo Victoria Theatre in an open-ended run. The popular West End musical is currently booking until 23 May 2020.
The new 2019 cast of Wicked in London
Following the previous announcement made last month that Alistair Brammer would be taking on the role of Fiyero, further new casting has been announced for the spell-binding, smash-hit musical, Wicked. Set to star as the lead duo Elphaba and Glinda are Nikki Bentley and Helen Woolf respectively. The two actresses, who both recently appeared in the UK and Ireland tour of Wicked, will take on the roles on 22 July 2019. Woolf previously understudied for the roles of Nessarose and Glinda in the West End production.
Taking on the role of Madame Morrible will be Kim Ismay (Mamma Mia! at the Novello Theatre), who also recently portrayed the character in the touring production. Returning to the West End musical in the role of Boq will be Idriss Kargbo (Five Guys Named Moe), who will portray the character until 10 November 2019. Filling in the role of Doctor Dillamond will be Simeon Truby (Sweeney Todd). Continuing in the role of the Wizard will be Andy Hockley whilst the role of Nessarose will be portrayed by Carina Gillespie, who returns to the role after portraying the character on the 2013-15 UK tour.
The new Wicked cast will also feature Lisa-Anne Wood (The Phantom of the Opera) as a standby for Elphaba whilst Laura Pick also continues as a standby for Elphaba. Serving as maternity cover for Nessarose will be Natasha Ferguson (42nd Street).
Starring in the company of Wicked are Bryony Whitfield, Carl Man, Chad Wilder, Chanelle Anthony, Chiarina Woodall, Chris George, Dickie Wood, Genevieve Taylor, Grant Thresh, James Titchener, Joanna Sawyer, Kerry Enright, Lewis Easter, Libby Watts, Lucie Horsfall, Maggie Lynne, Meg Astin, Michael Colbourne, Nicole Lupino, Nolan Edwards, Rebecca Botterill, Rebecca Gilliland, Rhidian Marc, Scott Sutcliffe, Stuart Maciver, and Tom Woollaston.
Current lead cast members Alice Fearn, Chris Jarman, David Witts, Jack Lansbury, Melanie La Barrie, Rosa O'Reilly, and Sophie Evans will finish in their roles on Saturday, 20 July 2019.

Wicked features a book by Winnie Holzman and lyrics and music by Stephen Schwartz. The show is best known for its hit musical numbers, including "Popular", "The Wizard and I", and "Defying Gravity", the latter of which was made popular by Idina Menzel (Frozen).
