An abridged background of Waitress The Musical

Waitress features a book by Jessie Nelson, direction by Tony Award-winning director Diane Paulus, an original score by seven-time Grammy Award nominee Sara Bareilles, and choreography by Lorin Latarro. The top-tier creatives collectively became the first all-female creative team on Broadway.

The story of Waitress The Musical centres on a southern waitress named Jenna who works at the local diner. She enters a pie baking contest to win the grand prize and escape her abusive husband. Will her dreams come true?
