David Watts trained in acting at the National Youth Theatre and the National Youth Music Theatre. He is best known for starring as Joey Branning on EastEnders, for which he won the award for Best Newcomer at the 2013 National Television Awards. He also won the award for Sexiest Male at the Inside Soap Awards. He has recently been living the Hollywood dream, having starred in two American television shows that include I Ship It (on the CW network) and Recovery Road (ABC/Freeform). Witts' stage credits prior to living in L.A. include the role of Link Larkin in Hairspray at the Leicester Curve Theatre and the Aladdin pantomime at the New Theatre in Hull.

Watts was reportedly excited to be returning home after living across the pond in Los Angeles for three years and he is eager to start rehearsals at the Apollo Victoria Theatre. The Executive Producer of Wicked expressed his delight in the casting of Watts, saying that the young star has more than proved himself to be an accomplished and award-winning actor.

Wicked is now playing at the Apollo Victoria Theatre and is booking until 25 May 2019. You won't want to miss the young and talented David Witts in his West End debut!
