    Cush Jumbo, Anna Wintour, and more to host Evening Standard Theatre Awards

    The 2019 London Evening Standard Theatre Awards are set to take place on Sunday, 24 November at the London Coliseum. Sharing hosting duties for the ceremony will be fashion icon and editor-in-chief of Vogue Anna Wintour and Cush Jumbo from The Good Fight, along with Emmy Award-winner and Golden Globe Award-winner Damian Lewis (Showtime's Homeland, Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood) and Peaky Blinders actress Helen McCrory. The nominees for this year's Evening Standard Theatre Awards are expected to be announced at the beginning of November.

    Hosts for 65th Annual Evening Standard Theatre Awards announced

    Anna Wintour is set to return to the London Coliseum stage to host this year's ceremony alongside the Evening Standard's proprietor Evgeny Lebedev. They will share the podium with fellow hosts Damian Lewis (Who is Sylvia?, The Goat) and Helen McCrory (The Deep Blue Sea). The ceremony itself will be presented by Olivier Award-nominated actress Cush Jumbo (Lucca Quinn in The Good Wife and The Good Fight; Hamlet at the Young Vic).

    Lebedev expressed his excitement to be hosting the event with Anna Wintour once again and was pleased to see the West End's London Coliseum take on the role of the ceremony's new backdrop.

    Who is on the judging panel for the Evening Standard Theatre Awards 2019?

    This year's judging panel is set to feature Holy Williams, Nick Curtis, and Natasha Tripney while the subcommittee on deciding the Promising Playwright Award will be comprised of Sam Marlowe, Sarah Crompton, and Sophia A Jackson.

    The shortlist for the 2019 Evening Standard Theatre Awards will be released in early November. This year's categories include Best Play, Best Director, Best Actress, Best Actor, Most Promising Playwright, Best Design, Emerging Talent Award, Best Musical Performance, Best Musical, and the Lebedev Award.

    The Evening Standard awards ceremony will come after the highly-anticipated inaugural Black British Theatre Awards take place at the end of Black History Month UK this month. Stay tuned for more details!
