Will Young to star in Cabaret at the Savoy Theatre

Making a welcome return to the West End is a brand new production of the musical Cabaret, which will come to the Savoy Theatre from 3rd October after a 4 week UK tour.

The new production is choreographed by Javier de Frutos and will star Will Young as Master of Ceremonies at the famous Kit Kat club.  The rest of the cast has yet to be announced.

Will Young has said: "I am very excited about the challenge of choosing Cabaret as my first musical theatre role. The role of the Emcee is a part I have wanted to play since before I started training at Arts Education in Chiswick when I first moved to London. With Rufus and Javier I couldn’t wish for better people to be surrounded by."

After his huge musical success including two Brit Awards, he made his stage debut at Manchester's Royal Exchange Theatre in 2007 in The Vortex and featured in the film Mrs Henderson in 2005 alongside Judi Dench.

Javier de Frutos has already won an Oliver award for his choreography of Caberet in 2007 that played a successful revival at the Lyric Theatre.  He also won the 2011 Evening Standard Award for "Beyond Theatre" for his direction and choreography on The Most Incredible Thing, the successul collaboration with Pet Shop Boys at the Saddlers Wells.

The production plays a 4 week UK tour in Southampton, Nottingham, Norwich and Salford prior to opening at The Savoy Theatre on 3rd October.
