WE WILL ROCK YOU ROCKS WITH MEL C AND BRIAN MAY

Last night ex spice girl Melanie C took to the stage joining cast members from the award-winning West End musical We Will Rock You at the Dominion Theatre to perform a unique curtain call collaboration in aid of BBC Children in Need POP Goes the Musical.

The audience had another surprise guest when rock legend and music supervisor of the show Brian May took to the stage to join Melanie C in a show stopping rendition of ‘We Will Rock You’ and ‘We Are The Champions’.

The audience went wild, taking part in the infamous ‘stamps and claps’ as Melanie C's, showing of her post baby body in skin tight red leather troussers, impressive vocals were stunningly enhanced by Brian May’s signature show-stopping guitar riffs.

Melanie C said: “I feel incredibly lucky to have been a part of ‘Pop Goes the Musical’ for this year’s BBC Children in Need. I can’t believe I had the chance to perform with the amazing cast of ‘We Will Rock You’. I have always been a massive Queen fan, and to have the opportunity to perform two of the band’s biggest anthems and to be joined on stage by the legendary Brian May is a dream come true! Thank you Pudsey!”

Brian May said: “I always wanted to work with Rocky Spice! And tonight it finally happened. She is such a total pro - a delight to interact with. Thanks Mel C! You rock!!!”

In the audience was Mel C's proud mum and Anita Dobson, partner of Brian May.

Introduced by writer and director of the show, Ben Elton, the performance was part of BBC Children in Need Pop Goes The Musical, a series of West End performances by pop stars to help raise money for the charity.

This unique charity project is giving renowned celebrities from the music sphere the chance to perform a hit song with a top show, to take place in September to help raise vital funds for disadvantaged children and young people here in the UK.
