VIDEO: JUST RELEASED TRAILER FOR RSC'S PRODUCTION OF JULIUS CAESAR AT THE NOEL COWARD THEATRE

Watch the new trailer film for the Royal Shakespeare Company’s production of Julius Caesar, opening from 8 August at the Noel Coward Theatre.

Transferring to the Noel Coward Theatre in the West End from The Royal Shakespeare Theatre as part of the World Shakespeare Festival thousands of artists from around the world will take part in almost 70 productions, plus supporting events and exhibitions, right across the UK including London, Stratford-upon-Avon, Newcastle, Gateshead, Birmingham, Wales and Scotland and online. The festival forms part of London 2012 Festival, which is the culmination of the Cultural Olympiad, bringing leading artists from all over the world together in a UK-wide festival in the summer of 2012.

Set in modern day Africa, the RSC’s new production of Julius Caesar features a distinguished cast including RAY FEARON as Mark Antony; Paterson Joseph as Brutus; JEFFERY KISSOON as Caesar and Cyril Nri as Cassius.

A fast-moving thriller about a struggle for democracy, William Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar is also a story about two men united by an explosive act of political violence. With echoes of the recent overthrow of dictators during the ‘Arab Spring’, the production explores the implications of political assassination and the unpredictability of its aftermath.

The production is directed by RSC Artistic Director Designate Gregory Doran and has also been filmed for broadcast on BBC Four as part of the BBC's Shakespeare Unlocked season.
