TOM CRUISE SINGS IN NEW ROCK OF AGES MOVIE TRAILER

Interest is soaring in the upcoming film version of Broadway smash-hit stage musical Rock Of Ages as the film adaptation's release date approaches.  A recent trailer for the film focuses on Mission Impossible star Tom Cruise's character Stacee Jaxx and shows the Hollywood star performing Bon Jovi's Wanted Dead Or Alive.

Also featured in the preview are co-stars Catherine Zeta-Jones, Mary J.Blige, Russell Brand and Alec Baldwin.  The film will be released on June 15th and is directed by Alan Shankman who also helmed the recent film adaptation of Hairspray featuring John Travolta and Michelle Pfeiffer.  The show tells the story of aspiring actress Sherrie and wannabe rocker Drew, played by Cheryl Cole's 'pal' Derek Hough's sister Julianne Hough and Pretty Little Liars heartthrob Diego Boneta.  The Comeback star Malin Ackerman who also co-stars in the film recently sang Cruise's praises.  "You will be shocked…I kind of wasn't that surprised, because when Tom does something he does it 150%.  So he really just brought his f**king game and he sounds like a rock star.  I'm not kidding.  He could be an opera singer if he wanted to.  His voice is really powerful."

The original production opened on Broadway in 2009 and the London show at the Shaftesbury Theatre starring X Factor winner Shayne Ward and comedian Justin Lee Collins is currently wowing audiences at the Shaftesbury Theatre where it opened in August 2011.  Sales are expected to be bolstered dramatically once the film hits cinemas.  The musical features such rock classics as Starship's We Built This City, Europe's The Final Countdown, Journey's Don't Stop Believin' and Foreigner's I Want To Know What Love Is.
