After receiving rave reviews and selling out at the Tristan Bates Theatre, Thrill Me - The Leopold & Loeb Story makes a transfer for a limited run only to the Charing Cross Theatre from 17th May to 11th June.
Thrill Me: The Leopold & Loeb Story, a two-character, one-piano musical with seventeen numbers, is based on the true story of Nathan Leopold and Richard Loeb, the so-called "thrill killers" who commit murder in 1924 of a fourteen-year-old boy’s life just for kicks in order to commit "the perfect crime." The story was the basis for Never The Sinner, Swoon and Alfred Hichcock's famous 1948 thriller movie ‘Rope'.
Stephen Dolginoff won an ASCAP Music Award for the New York production of Thrill Me in 2005. He received Drama Desk Award nominations for Best Musical and Best Music Score; and an Outer Critics Circle Award nomination for Best Off-Broadway Musical. There have been nearly 50 productions worldwide including Melbourne, Sydney, New Orleans, Athens, Los Angeles, Chicago and Seoul (now in its 5th year). Upcoming premieres include Tokyo and Brazil.
The show stars Jye Frasca who was the original Joe Pesci in the London Production of Jersey Boys, as well as playing Frankie Valli on numerous occasions. His other credits include Wicked, Mary Poppins, and Trevor Nunn's productions of Love's Labour's Lost and Anything Goes at the National.
George Maguire has been in West End roles that include Oliver! and Fame. He has played in two seasons of Quadrophenia, and was in the European tour of Rent.
Reviews:
"There is no production currently running in the capital that is more intelligent, atmospheric and haunting as this. How gratifying it is to find, off the beaten track, such a gleaming gem." - *****The Telegraph
" Slick, sophisticated...Both Frasca and Maguire are superb, the former seeming to shrink and gain pallor in the flash-forwards to his parole hearing in 1958. Thrilling indeed." - ****London Evening Standard
