Three Reasons You MUST See Kinky Boots!

I was lucky enough to attend one of the preview nights for Kinky Boots at the Adelphi Theatre and it was so worth it! I don’t really have anything bad to say about this show, so here are three simple reasons why you should go and see it:

    1. An Incredible Cast

The talent of the cast amazed me, as they always tend to with every show I see. Killian Donnelly (as Charlie Price), Matt Henry (as Lola), Amy Lennox (as Lauren) and Jamie Baughan (as Don) were the cast/characters that stood out to me the most and quickly became my favourites. The kids were adorable too, let’s not forget their talents.

I also admired the guys playing the brilliant “angels”, as they killed every performance they did and are SO much better in heels and dresses than myself, so much so it actually made me a little envious!

There were very few faults, only the odd unscripted giggle from Donnelly and an unlucky near-fall from one of the Angels, but you could barely notice, they recovered so well and with it still being in the preview performances it’s understandable.

    2. Important Messages

There are 6 key messages to Kinky Boots, those being: pursue the truth, learn something new, accept yourself and you’ll accept others too, let love shine, let pride be your guide and you can change the world when you change your mind.

I believe these points are so important, as this musical was based on truth and tells a story of taking risks, accepting and loving people for who they are and that great things can happen if you look at it in the right way.

Musicals or shows of these themes are my personal favourite, and I just hope many people will be willing to open their minds to it and take something away from it.

    3. It’s An Utterly FABULOUS Show

Do I need to say much more? It’s once again everything you expect from a west-end musical: catchy songs (and yes, I have been playing the soundtrack on repeat on Spotify and Youtube since), inspiring with important messages, relations to reality, emotional (in parts), a combination of funny and sassy and most importantly it’s extremely feel-good. You can change the world if you change your mind! What more could you wish for?

I would recommend Kinky Boots to all, because you will leave feeling nothing less than FABULOUS!
