Robert Lindsay, Rufus Hound And Katherine Kingsley To Star In Dirty Rotten Scoundrels At The Savoy

It has been announced that award-winning actor Robert Lindsay, comedian Rufus Hound and West End actress Katherine Kingsley will star in the West End premiere of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels at the Savoy Theatre from March 2014.
The production of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels will mark Robert Lindsay’s return to musical theatre following a sixteen year break. Jerry Mitchell, whose credits include Legally Blonde, Love Never Dies and Kinky Boots, will direct and choreograph the musical. He also choreographed the original production of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, which has music and lyrics by David Yazbek and a book by Jeffrey Lane, on Broadway in 2005.
With designs from Peter McKintosh, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels is based on the 1988 film starring Michael Caine and Steve Martin and tells the story of two conmen competing to swindle money from an American heiress.
Robert Lindsay is known for playing Ben Harper in eleven series’ of the BBC sitcom My Family. He has won a BAFTA, a Tony Award and three Olivier Awards throughout his career. Robert’s musical theatre credits include: Me and My Girl and Oliver, while on stage he has also starred in: Becket, The Entertainer and The Lion in Winter.
Comedian Rufus Hound made his stage debut in Utopia at the Soho Theatre last year. He went on to make his West End debut starring in One Man, Two Guvnors at the Theatre Royal Haymarket to great acclaim. Most recently he appeared in Neville's Island in Chichester.
Katherine Kingsley is currently playing Helena in Michael Grandage's production of A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Noel Coward Theatre. Her other theatre credits include: Singin' in the Rain (Chichester/West End), Relative Values (UK Tour) and Aspects of Love (Menier).
The production will run at the Savoy Theatre from 10th March 2014, following runs at Manchester Opera House and Aylesbury's Waterside Theatre. Dirty Rotten Scoundrels follows Let It Be which runs at the Savoy Theatre until 8th February 2014.
