    Phoenix Theatre
The Phoenix Theatre opened in 1930 with the premiere of Noel Coward's Private Lives featuring Coward himself in the cast, along with Gertrude Lawrence, Adrienne Allen and a young Laurence Olivier. The Phoenix enjoyed a succession of very successful plays including John Gielgud's Love for Love during the war, and a season featuring Paul Scofield and Peter Brook in the mid fifties. A new musical Canterbury Tales adapted from Chaucer's famous book opened in 1968 and began a 2000 performance run. The eighties and nineties have seen many award-winning musicals, including The baker's Wife by Stephen Schwarz and Into the wood by Stephen Sondheim starring Julia McEnzie; as well as a very successful season of Shakespeare plays. In 1991, Blood Brothers was transferred from the Albery and is the longest running show ever at the Phoenix.

Written by the legendary Willy Russell, Blood Brothers tells the captivating and moving tale of twins who, separated at birth, grow up on opposite sides of the tracks, only to meet again with tragic consequences. Hailed as one of the best musicals of all time scooping up no less than four awards for best musical in London and seven Tony Award nominations on Broadway, Blood Brothers is celebrating 22 years in London's West End.

The interior of the Phoenix Theatre is often considered to be one of London’s finest. Designed by director and designer Theodore Komisarjevsky in an Italianate style, golden wall engravings and plush red carpets make the theatre a very striking one. Blood Brothers tickets are available for purchase online and in person at the Phoenix Theatre Box Office. The Phoenix Theatre seating plan can accommodate 1,012 people across 3 levels.
