Our #TicketTuesday winner Billy Harvey reviews The Bodyguard!

Every Tuesday we give away the chance to win free tickets to a West End show with our #TicketTuesday giveaway on Twitter.  Recent winner Billy Harvey snaffled two tickets to the hit show The Bodyguard, based on the 1992 smash hit movie in which the late Whitney Houston starred alongside Kevin Costner.  The Bodyguard West End musical features Houston's legendary hits such as I Wanna Dance With Somebody, So Emotional and One Moment In Time.

Here are Billy's thoughts on the show:

"As I took my seat at The Adelphi, I was slightly apprehensive of what I was about to watch but as the show started I could feel my head starting to bop to 'Queen of the Night'. I cannot fault the choices of song. Each song worked brilliantly with whatever was happening and though I felt some numbers maybe weren't needed, they still somehow worked.

Debbie Kurup gives a sensational performance as Nikki Marron. Vocally she was a knockout!  Lloyd Owen gave a great performance as Frank Farmer. Though not much of a singing part, he gave a lovely nod to Dolly's version of 'I Will Always Love You'. With a strong ensemble to back up the leads, I knew they had cast it right. However it was Heather Headley's turn as Rachael Marron that really brought down the house! From the very opening, right to the end and that stunning rendition of 'I Will Always Love You', she just kept the ball rolling! Her acting was simple, yet worked so wonderfully for her character.

The highlight of her performance for me, besides that famous Dolly number, had to be the sensational 'Run to You', which is duetted so incredibly with Debbie Kurup. Heather's voice simply flows like silk and brought the emotion so beautifully. The reviews for the show have been a mixed bag of sorts but I had a smile throughout. Go see it! if not for its great score of the late Whitney Houston, but simply to be mesmerised by Heather's remarkable portrayal as Rachel Marron!  A great jukebox musical to rival that of the lesser successful Viva Forever!."

The Bodyguard London is currently booking at the Adelphi Theatre until March 2014.
