NEW CAST MEMBER FOR DREAMBOATS AND PETTICOATS

Musical Dreamboats and Petticoats welcomes new cast member Sam Attwater to the stage at the Playhouse Theatre.

The actor, best known from Eastenders as Leon recently gained new fans as he was voted champion of the celebrity ice skating show, Dancing on Ice earlier this year in March.  He also released his debut album in January 2011.  He will play the role of Norman in the show, which is currently running at the Playhouse Theatre directed by Bob Thomson.

The show featuring songs from Roy Orbison, The Shadows, Eddie Cochran, Billy Fury, Chuck Berry and many more tells the tale of young musicians in 1961 competing to win both a songwriting competition and the affections of a girl.  With a book by Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran inspired by the album, Dreamboats and Petticoats, the show  includes hits like "Let’s Dance," "Little Town Flirt," "Runaround Sue," "Happy Birthday Sweet 16" and "Let’s Twist Again."

Sam Attwater joins the production from 18th July.
