Lulu set to join the cast of 42nd street, making her West End comeback after three decades

Lulu will be returning to London's West End after a 30-year hiatus to play Dorothy Brock in the critically acclaimed 42nd Street, which recently won four WhatsOnStage awards.

Lulu set to join the cast of 42nd street, making her West End comeback after three decades

The Scottish songstress made her big break into acting when she starred alongside Sidney Poitier in the now classic 1967 drama, To Sir, with Love. The title song, sung by Lulu, was a huge hit and topped the US charts for five consecutive weeks. Lulu was subsequently catapulted into stardom and remained a triple threat throughout her career, dabbing into acting, singing, and songwriting. She has also collaborated with some of the most well-known musical talents of our time, including the late David Bowie, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, and Johnny Cash.

Lulu's acting career has also been nothing short of spectacular. Her feature stage debut on London's West End took place in the 1984 Royal National Theatre production of Guys and Dolls. Other stage credits of hers include the Christmas pantomime Peter Pan (1972) and the musical Song and Dance (1982) at the Palace Theatre.

It has also been announced that Ashley Day will be joining the cast as Billy Lawlor. Some of her notable theatrical credits include Kiss Me, Kate (Opera North), The Book of Mormon (West End), and The Wizard of Oz (London Palladium).

42nd Street features an all-star cast and award-winning ensemble of over 45 actors performing on the West End's largest stage. It's without a doubt the biggest show in town and has been universally praised by critics and audiences alike.
