Loserville, a new musical to open at the Garrick Theatre in October!

The new musical LOSERVILLE, written by Elliot Davis and James Bourne will open at The Garrick Theatre, London on Wednesday 17th October 2012.

LOSERVILLE, a new British musical by Elliot Davis and James Bourne, will receive its London premiere at the Garrick Theatre (a Nimax Theatre), opening on 17 October 2012, following previews from 1 October.  This follows a successful run at the West Yorkshire Playhouse this summer.

To celebrate this new British musical by two of the country’s up-and-coming young musical theatre writers, the producers of LOSERVILLE are delighted to announce that there will be 25,000 tickets available at £25 or less during the first booking period.  Nica Burns, CEO of Nimax Theatres, said, “I had a ball when I saw this show at West Yorkshire Playhouse. Be daring! For only £25 you too can discover this fresh, fizzy, fun and delightfully original contemporary musical with a young cast bursting with talent.  If you aren’t 25, you’ll feel like it!”

It’s 1971. Computer geek Michael Dork and his misfit friends Lucas, Marvin and Francis, are about to change the world. It's just that no-one knows it yet. But, when new girl Holly arrives in town, all of Michael’s dreams seem to be coming true – at last a girl with looks and brains that actually notices him. But when rich kid Eddie discovers Holly’s dark secret, he turns his back on girlfriend Leia, and sets out to ruin Michael’s future dreams.

LOSERVILLE stars Aaron Sidwell as Michael, Eliza Hope Bennett as Holly, Stewart Clarke as Eddie, Charlotte Harwood as Leia, Richard Lowe as Lucas, Lil’ Chris as Francis and Daniel Buckley as Marvin, with Jade Albertsen, Sophie Ayers, Laura Bennett, Robbie Boyle, Matthew Bradley, Olly Buxton, Andrew Carthy, Freya Field, Daniel Hall, Lauren Hall, Ollie Hannifan, Dan Krikler, Duncan Leighton, Ashley Luke Lloyd, Megan Louch, Andy Shaw, Sarah Watson, Witney White.

As well as LOSERVILLE, Elliot Davis and James Bourne have also written the musical Out There, which was recently commissioned and staged by Youth Music Theatre UK at the Riverside Studios.  Elliot also co-wrote Soho Cinders with George Stiles and Anthony Drewe, which is currently on at the Soho Theatre.  His other musicals, Best Friends and Butterflies and Once Upon a Time at the Adelphi, won the Ticketmaster Composer Award for Best Musical for Young People and the TMA Award for Outstanding Musical respectively.

Musician and songwriter James Bourne has written four number one hit songs, had numerous top three singles, and, as a founder-member of pop-rock bands Busted and Son of Dork, played to sold out arenas across the UK. He has won two Brit Awards and, as a recording artist and songwriter, has sold over seven million records. He has also written for numerous other artists including McFly, The Saturdays, Jonas Brothers, Backstreet Boys, Gabriela Cilmi and Pixie Lott.

LOSERVILLE is directed by Steven Dexter and choreographed by Nick Winston, with set by Francis O’Connor, costumes by Francis O’Connor and Stephen Snell, lighting by Howard Harrison and sound by Simon Baker.  Orchestrations and vocal arrangements are by Martin Lowe, Elliot Davis and James Bourne, with musical supervision by Martin Lowe and musical direction by Jim Henson. Casting by Anne Vosser and general management by Joanne Benjamin and Clive Chenery for The Entertainment Business.

LOSERVILLE is produced in London by Kevin Wallace Limited, TC Beech Limited, West Yorkshire Playhouse and Youth Music Theatre UK.
