Last Chance To See A Doll’s House At The Duke of York’s Theatre Prior To New York Transfer

You only have four weeks left to see Carrie Cracknell’s critically acclaimed production of A Doll’s House at the Duke of York’s Theatre!

A DOLL'S HOUSE, which transferred to the West End following two successful runs at the Young Vic, will complete its run on Saturday 26th October 2013 as previously announced. The show will then transfer to New York where it will enjoy a run at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) early next year.

Simon Stephens’ new version of Ibsen’s A Doll’s House premiered at the Young Vic in July 2012.  The production returned in March this year when it celebrated a second sell-out run.  In August Cracknell’s production transferred to Duke of York’s Theatre in the West End and, once again, the show received many five star reviews.

'Ibsen was a pathbreaking and fearless analyst of human relationships and A Doll's House is always a thrilling moral explosion - as much so today as when it was first seen over 130 years ago. The controversy that erupted around it has never died down: is it an attack on marriage? Is it proto-feminist? Is its defence of the individual compatible with social order? And if it is not, then how are people to live?'

The production stars Hattie Morahan who was nominated for an Olivier Award for her portrayal of Nora Helmer She is joined by: Dominic Rowan as Torvald, Nick Fletcher as Nils Krogstad, Steve Toussaint as Doctor Rank, Caroline Martin as Kristine Linde, Leda Hodgson as Anna and Yolanda Kettle as Helene.

The role of young Jon is alternated by Shane Lyons-Cording, Lukas Rolfe and Jake Tuesley and the role of Ivar is played by Leon Rolfe, Tommy Rodger and Harry Polden. The Helmers’ baby is played by Cary Elwood, Julia Elliot-Lockhart, Dexter Foster, Joseph Neville and Robin Williamson

Set designs are by Ian MacNeil with costumes by Gabrielle Dalton, lighting by Guy Hoare, music by Stuart Earl, sound by David McSeveney and choreography by Quinny Sacks.   The literal translation is by Charlotte Barslund.

A Doll's House runs at the Duke of York's Theatre until Saturday 26th October 2013.
