    Landmark Famous In London

The London Eye or Millennium Wheel is a landmark famous in London and is the largest observation wheel in Europe. After seven years in construction, the wheel was finally opened in 2000 to celebrate the Millennium. The wheel itself measures 135 meters high and consists of 32 capsules each of which can hold 25 people. The wheel travels at only a few inches a second, taking approximately 30 minutes for a full rotation. It does not usually stop to take on passengers as the rotation rate is so slow, however it will stop to help disabled and elderly passengers embark and disembark safely.  The 30 minutes it takes to complete one rotation gives you an ample opportunity to view and photograph London's other famous landmarks including Westminster Bridge, Big Ben, St Pauls Cathedral, The Tower of London and The Tower Bridge from a view only offered by the wheel. On a clear day the view can stretch to more than 40 kilometres. It is the fourth tallest structure in London after the BT Tower, Tower 42 and One Canada Square and its major components come from six European countries including The Netherlands, Italy, Germany, Czech Republic, France and of course England.

The London Eye is now the most popular paid for UK attraction visited by more than 3.5 million people every year. It is suitable for all ages from children to their grandparents and has the facility of free buggy storage and free hire of baby carriers. Booking online also has its advantages as you will not need to line up on the day to pay for your tickets, you will receive an immediate booking confirmation and you can also book a guaranteed flight time allowing you to plan your day in advance.

This is definitely one landmark famous in London that you will not want to miss out on and with tickets from £9.50 for children and £18.00 for adults, there really are no excuses not to give it a spin!
