GOSSIP: GHOST THE MUSICAL HEADING TO BROADWAY?

Only just opened in London's West End , The Piccadilly Theatre, there is already speculation across the pond that Ghost the Musical could be a production that makes the transfer to Broadway next Spring 2012.

The show previewed in Manchester to excellent reviews and tickets are selling up fast for the West End production of the show adpated from the film that famously starred Demi Moore, Patrick Swayze and Whoopi Goldberg.  It certainly has excellent pedigree for a Broadway showing with the staqe show being written by the author of the original screenplay, Oscar winner Bruce Joel Rubin.

Then there is the fact that the music and lyrics are by international songwriter Dave Stewart of Eurythmics fame who has collaborated with Glen Ballard.  Currently the cast recording is number one in the charts for Soundtracks and Musicals.

There hasn't been any offical announcement yet and no word on whether the London cast led by Richard Fleeshman, Caissie Levy and Sharon D. Clarke would go with the Broadway production.  The London production is currently booking until October 2012.
