Conor McPherson’s depression-era drama featuring the songs of Bob Dylan had its 2017 premiere at prestigious Off-West End venue, the Old Vic and shortly thereafter received a transfer to the West End’s Noel Coward Theatre. Earning five Olivier Award nominations and coming away with two of those awards, the highly successful show went on to enjoy an Off-Broadway transfer. The limited Girl from the North Country West End season is coming just ahead of its scheduled Broadway debut.

The story and songs of Girl from the North Country

Set in 1934 in the midst of The Great Depression in Duluth Minnesota, Girl from the North Country skillfully interweaves Dylan’s songs with a story about a family who, like so many, has fallen on hard times and is trying to make ends meet and keep a roof over their heads. Classic songs like "Slow Train", "Like A Rolling Stone", "Make You Feel My Love", "Hurricane" and "Forever Young" are brought to life as stirring ensemble numbers or touching solo performances. The award-winning musical shows what happens when a family feels like their entire future is resting on the knife-edge between ruin and success.
