It has been announced that Forbidden Broadway will transfer to the West End following its successful run at the Menier Chocolate Factory. The production will open at the Vaudeville Theatre on Tuesday 9th September for a limited eleven week run ending on Saturday 22nd November 2014.
Damian Humbley, Anna-Jane Casey and Ben Lewis, who are currently starring in the show at the Menier Chocolate Factory, will reprise their performances in the transfer alongside Christina Bianco. As well as being a YouTube sensation, Bianco has appeared in the New York production of Forbidden Broadway.
This updated version of Forbidden Broadway, from Broadway director Phillip George, showcases (and makes fun of) some of the best productions from both Broadway and the West End including The Book of Mormon, Once, Matilda, Wicked, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Les Miserables and Miss Saigon.
Damian Humbley recently starred in the West End transfer of the Menier Chocolate Factory’s production of Merrily We Roll Along. His theatre credits also include: Dickens Abridged (Arts), Putting it Together (St. James), Company (Sheffield Crucible) and Lend Me A Tenor (Gielgud).
Anna-Jane Casey joins the Forbidden Broadway company fresh from dazzling West End audiences in Billy Elliot the Musical (Victoria Palace) following an acclaimed run as The Lady of the Lake in Spamalot (Playhouse). She has starred in many of the West End’s best loved musicals including Cats, Joseph, Grease, Starlight Express and West Side Story.
Ben Lewis completes the cast. He recently appeared in Thérèse Raquin (Finborough) and Candide (Menier Chocolate Factory), but it best known for originating The Phantom in the new Australian production of Love Never Dies. His further credits include: A Little Night Music (Opera Australia), Spamalot (Her Majesty’s Theatre, Melbourne) and Priscilla Queen of the Desert (Sydney).
