    Featured Plays: February 2018

    With so much fabulous theatre coming and going in the West End deciding what to see can become daunting. Have no fear though, we’ve compiled a list of featured shows to help you make your choice a little bit easier.

    Frozen
    A little girl goes missing and in Frozen we see the aftermath. This show about interconnected lives, forgiveness and redemption focuses on a therapist, a serial killer and a mother. Starring Suranne Jones and Jason Watkins, Bryony Lavery’s award-winning show Frozen is playing at the Theatre Royal Haymarket from February 9th to May 5th.

    The Birthday Party
    This iconic Harold Pinter play features a star-studded cast including Toby Jones, Zoe Wanamaker, Stephen Mangan, and Pearl Mackie. In a sleepy seaside boarding house a seemingly mundane birthday party is interrupted by the arrival of two strangers. The Birthday Party is an absurd and dark comedy playing at the Harold Pinter Theatre until April 14th.

    Lady Windermere’s Fan
    Everything in Lady Windermere’s life is going marvellously until she learns of a rumour that could compromise her reputation and bring her husband’s fidelity into question. When her husband invites the woman the rumour involves to Lady Windermere’s birthday party things threaten to fall apart. Director Kathy Burke has assembled an allstar comedic cast including Samantha Spiro, Kevin Bishop and guest star Jennifer Saunders who are playing at the Vaudeville Theatre through April 7th.

    Mary Stuart
    Robert Icke’s new adaptation of this classic show has transferred from the Almeida Theatre to the Duke of York’s Theatre. This political thriller takes on a new dimension as lead actresses Lia Williams and Juliet Stevenson flip a coin at each performance to see which queen they will be playing. Mary Stuart is playing at the Duke of York’s Theatre until March 31st.

    A Long Day’s Journey into Night
    After a sold-out run as part of the Bristol Old Vic’s 250th Anniversary season A Long Day’s Journey into Night is making its way to the West End. Jeremy Irons and Lesley Manville head their dysfunctional family in Eugene O’Neill’s Pulitzer Prize winning family drama. A Long Day’s Journey into Night has a strictly limited 10 week run at Wyndham’s Theatre from January 27th to April 7th.
