Exquisite Production Of Nutcracker Returns To The London Coliseum This Christmas

The English National Ballet's stunning production of Nutcracker returns to the London Coliseum

English National Ballet’s timeless production of Nutcracker returns for its fourth Christmas season at the Coliseum with choreography by Wayne Eagling. The production will play three nights at the Liverpool Empire from 20 – 23 November 2013 before heading to the London Coliseum from 11 December – 5 January 2014.

Set in a frost-covered, gas-lit London, it features Clara, her nutcracker doll and her magician Drosselmeyer in this traditional, festival tale for all the family. On an enchanted Christmas Eve, under the heavy boughs of the candlelit tree, Clara battles with the Mouse King and falls in love with a handsome stranger. As the air grows colder and snowflakes begin to fall, Clara and her valiant Nutcracker take a hot air balloon ride across the frost-dusted London skyline to the glistening Land of Snow where her adventure really begins.

In a world of Edwardian elegance, Nutcracker brings to life the eternally popular Tchaikovsky score featuring the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy and Waltz of the Flowers.

This Nutcracker, choreographed by Wayne Eagling has been enjoyed by over 200,000 people since it received its world premiere in 2010.

This is English National Ballet’s 12th production of Nutcracker since it performed its first full length Nutcracker in its founding year of 1950. English National Ballet has established the tradition of performing Nutcracker every single Christmas since then.
