Girl power, friendship and female identity to be themes in the new Judy Cramer produced musical, Viva Forever!
Although the venue for Viva Forever The Musical is not yet confirmed, a press conference announcing full details of the show is scheduled to take place tomorrow, June 26th 2012.
With all five Spice Girls taking to their Twitter accounts and tweeting that they have something very special lined up this week, it's almost certain that all five girls will reunite for the press conference tomorrow. Rumours are swirling about the reunion, and the show which is one of the most anticipated musicals in years. As yet, though, nothing has been confirmed officially.
The Viva Forever musical sees Mamma Mia! executive producer, Judy Cramer team up with Absolutely Fabulous star Jennifer Saunders
Emma Bunton, still known affectionately as Baby Spice has spoken of her excitement for the upcoming musical production, "I've heard a little bit about the story but it's top secret. We've been in touch with the producer and the writer." She also described the Saunder's penned script as "amazing" before confirming that all five Spice Girls are on board.
Information about Viva Forever! is tightly controlled which is leading to unprecedented interest in Viva Forever tickets.
Judy Craymer has confirmed the director though, stating, "I am delighted that Marianne [Elliot] has agreed to direct VIVA FOREVER. With her theatrical aptitude for exploring strong women and their relationships and her meticulousness to detail she is absolutely the right person to direct this new musical which is all about female friendship, celebrity and fame. I'm so happy to have her on board, together with Jennifer Saunders, who has written the musical."
Marianne Elliot is known for her outstanding work co-directing War Horse.
Unlike Thriller Live, based on the life of Michael Jackson, the story of Viva Forever doesn't deal with the lives of the people who inspired it, rather it is to follow a similar style to Mamma Mia! and is to explore themes such as friendship and womanhood. Cramer added, "We live in a world dominated by people wanting to be famous. What the Spice Girls did was before those shows became really what they are, and before the world become slightly obsessed by such shows. Viva Forever will encompass the Spice Girls ethos of friendship, identity and being true to yourself, it won't be a tribute or bio show, nor will it feature characters with any of the names of the famous five piece."
