Comedy Stars Mark Heap & Robert Webb To Take Over As Jeeves & Wooster In Perfect Nonsense

It has been announced that comedy stars Mark Heap and Robert Webb will take over from Stephen Mangan and Matthew Macfadyen as Jeeves and Wooster in Perfect Nonsense at the Duke Of York's Theatre.

Mark Heap and Robert Webb will join the production of Jeeves and Wooster in Perfect Nonsense from Monday 7th April 2014, with Mangan and Macfadyen playing their final performance on Saturday 5th April 2014. Based on and adapted from the established literary works of P.G. Wodehouse, Perfect Nonsense is a new comedy by brothers Robert and David Goodale which brings the charmingly incompetent Bertie Wooster and his unflappable valet Jeeves to life. The critically acclaimed production began previews at the Duke of York’s Theatre on 30th October 2013 and recently extended to 20th September 2014 due to public demand.

Best known for starring alongside long-time collaborator David Mitchell in Channel 4’s Peep Show, Robert Webb is a comedian, actor and writer. Mitchell and Webb also wrote and starred in The Mitchell and Webb Situation and That Mitchell and Webb Look which won the BAFTA for best comedy in 2007. A regular on comedy panel shows, he has also appeared in Fresh Meat, BBC3’s The Smoking Room and British films Confetti, Magicians and The Wedding Video. In 2008 Webb made his West End stage debut in the UK premiere of Fat Pig by Neil LaBute at Trafalgar Studios.

Mark Heap has appeared in a variety of television comedy roles which include Brian Topp in Spaced, Dr Alan Statham in Green Wing and Jim in Friday Night Dinner. He has worked with Chris Morris appearing in Jam and Brass Eye and had a long-running role as head postman Thomas Brown on Lark Rise to Candleford. Heap has also appeared in Miranda, Skins and Outnumbered as well as 2007 film Stardust and The World’s End.

Mark Hadfield is an Associate Artist of the RSC and has played countless stage roles at the company’s Stratford home, on the West End stage and the National Theatre. His credits include: Telyegin in Uncle Vanya (Vaudeville Theatre), Roscoe Dexter in Singin’ in the Rain (Palace Theatre), Trinculo in The Tempest (Theatre Royal Bath), The 39 Steps (Criterion), The Lion King (Lyceum Theatre), Much Ado About Nothing (Queen’s Theatre) and Guys and Dolls (Prince of Wales).

Perfect Nonsense is produced in the West End by Mark Goucher and Mark Rubinstein.
