    CLOSING: Flashdance The Musical at The Shaftesbury Theatre

    Flashdance the Musical, currently playing the Shaftesbury Theatre, is to close after just 16 weeks. Following extensive regional touring, Flashdance opened in the West End on 14 October 2010 and had initially been booking until 26 February 2011.

    Flashdance is written by Tom Hedley and Robert Cary, with music by Robbie Roth, lyrics by Robert Cary and Robbie Roth. It is directed by Nikolai Foster with choreography by Arlene Phillips.

    It’s expected to be making way for a new musical version of Daphne du Maurier’s Rebecca, slated for a spring 2011 West End premiere at the Shaftesbury Theatre

    The Flashdance producers said they “would like to thank all those involved for their phenomenal hard work on the show”.
