Casting for The Selfish Giant announced: Jeff Nicholson, Izuka Hoyle and Rose Shalloo to star

The Oscar Wilde story adapted by Guy Chambers into a folk opera has just announced its cast.

The Giant will be portrayed by Jeff Nicholson, whose prior stage credits include Sweeney Todd at the ENO and the Apollo Theatre production of Urinetown. Starring alongside Nicholson will be Izuka Hoyle, Rose Shalloo, Olly Dobson, Jacob Fisher, Scott Sutcliffe, and Laila Zaidi. The show will be narrated by Laura Sillett and Natasha Cottriall.

The Selfish Giant is part of the Vaudeville Theatre's Classic Spring season and will run from 10-14 April after a brief run from 4-7 April at Royal & Derngate in Northampton.

The show is directed by Bill Buckhurst and has been adapted and composed by Guy Chambers, who has notably co-written songs for Robbie Williams, including Let Me Entertain YouAngels and Feel, which were all top 5 hits on the UK Singles charts. The show is an adaptation of Oscar Wilde's parable of the same name about a giant who owns a gorgeous garden and refuses to let any children play in it.
