Bonnie Langford & Gary Wilmot Join Dirty Rotten Scoundrels At The Savoy Theatre

It has been announced that Bonnie Langford (Spamalot) and Gary Wilmot (The Pajama Game) are joining the cast of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels at the Savoy Theatre from Tuesday 16th September.

The pair will star as Muriel Eubanks - a glamorous divorcee looking for love in Beaumont-sur-Mer on the French Riviera - and Andre Thibault - Beaumont-sur-Mer’s Chief of Police. They replace Samantha Bond and John Marquez.

Robert Lindsay, Rufus Hound and Katherine Kingsley will continue to star as Lawrence Jameson, Freddy Benson and Christine Colgate. The musical is currently booking until Saturday 7th March 2015. Between them the new cast have won five Olivier Awards! They have a further three Olivier nominations, a Tony Award, a BAFTA award and a Tony nomination.

Directed and choreographed by Tony Award winning Jerry Mitchell, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels is based on the legendary 1988 film starring Michael Caine and Steve Martin, directed by Frank Oz. Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, which has been running since February 2014, has been seen by over 200,000 audience members who have between them quaffed 9,660 glasses of champagne at the Savoy Theatre!

Bonnie Langford was most recently seen as The Lady of the Lake in the West End production of Spamalot. Her West End career began at the age of seven when she was cast in Gone with the Wind. The following year she played Baby June in Gypsy opposite Angela Lansbury. On TV she has starred as the Doctor’s assistant in Doctor Who and competed on ITV’s Dancing On Ice. She has famously played Roxie in Chicago in the West End and on Broadway.

Gary Wilmot’s first major theatre role came when he took over from Robert Lindsay as Bill Snibson in Me and My Girl. He is currently starring in The Pajama Game at the Shaftesbury Theatre. On television Gary was well known for presenting hit shows including the BBC’s Showstoppers, originally a one off series, which proved so popular it extended to a further six series and even went on a sell-out national tour.
