    BETTY BLUE EYES TICKETS LONDON

If you are visiting the West End and want to see something totally British then you couldn't do better than to search Betty Blue Eyes tickets London to book a really fun and traditional musical. The show is on at the Novello Theatre and has recently extended to January 2012.

Betty Blue Eyes is produced by Cameron Mackintosh who is back in the West End with his first new original show for the first time in 10 years. One of the UK's most famous producers who has produced Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Mary Poppins, Cats, Miss Saigon to name just a few. His shows are performed world wide and he owns a number of West End theatres which perhaps explains the gap in producing a new show. Mackintosh is renowned for ensuring that all the productions world wide meet the same quality as a production in the West End and Broadway. He has also been involved in other revivals such as Oliver.

Betty Blue Eyes takes us back to 1947 the time of the other Royal Wedding. Coming just after the second world war the country needed a bit of cheer that comes from a Royal Wedding as the country endure rationing, unemployment and a cold winter. We meet the characters of a northern town that tells the tale of Betty, a pig being illegally fattened for a lavish banquet for dignitaries to celebrate the occasion, whilst the local less "important" people have to make do with Spam. In the production an animatronic pig is used, voiced by popstar Kylie Minogue.

Starring Sarah Lancashire and Reece Sheersmith. Lancashire says the all-singing and dancing show is right up her street and finds it a refreshing change to all the "jukebox musicals" based around the hits of a group or artist that have become the safe choice for producers these days. "This feels as if we’ve gone back to basics, to the sort of stuff I would hear as a child on Saturday morning at 10am when there was always a Hollywood musical on TV and the family would get up and I’d sit there in my nightie watching Ann Miller. I love that world!"

Having just celebrated another Royal Wedding in 2011 and enduring the usual rainy summer, this show which has received 4 star reviews from the critics will certainly cheer you up and show you some true British spirit with musical theatre at it's best! Book Betty Blue Eyes tickets London for a fun night out in the West End!
