Bakersfield Mist, marking the return to the London stage of multi award-winner Kathleen Turner, together with Tony and Olivier award winner Ian McDiarmid, has opened with some great reviews (and the front page of the Guardian!)
Described by Time Out as a Time Out ‘a sassy, sentimental new, drama’ Bakersfield Mist is the story of Maude, a fifty-something unemployed bartender who has bought a painting for a few bucks from the thrift store. Despite almost trashing it, she now thinks it's a Jackson Pollock worth millions. In fact she's certain it is.....but when world-class art expert, Lionel Percy, flies over from New York and arrives at her trailer park home in Bakersfield to authenticate the painting, he really has no idea what he is about to discover.

Particular praise has been lavised on the actors; ‘Turner & McDiarmid are terrific... the performances are definitely the genuine article’ said the The Daily Telegraph.
The Guardian added ‘Kathleen Turner dazzles’ and ‘Ian McDiarmid…a joy to watch’ and the Evening Standard said 'Kathleen Turner brings all her charismatic authority' and 'McDiarmid does a fine job of ensuring Lionel is a memorably monstrous snob, with a hint of vulnerability'.
In London for a strictly limited season, make sure you see these two acclaimed performances!
