Producers of A Chorus Line have announced that the performance at the London Palladium will close early, on August 31st 2013.

A Chorus Line closes following a critically acclaimed six month run at the London Palladium

Leigh Zimmerman (Sheila) won Best Performance in a Supporting Role in a Musical and A Chorus Line was nominated for Best Musical Revival at this year’s Laurence Olivier Awards.

The producers of A Chorus Line are currently finalising European touring plans for the production that will give audiences in Germany, Holland, France and beyond the chance to see the acclaimed London production, prior to a UK tour beginning in Autumn 2014.

Producer Mark Goucher said: “We are extremely proud of this production of A Chorus Line and would like to thank the cast and creative team for their exceptional work. It has been a huge privilege bringing this extraordinary show back to life on the London stage. We will be very sad to see it close. ”

This production was directed by Broadway and West End veteran director and choreographer Bob Avian. Avian was Michael Bennett’s long term collaborator and his co-choreographer on the original production. Avian was also responsible for directing the 2006 Broadway revival of A Chorus Line.

Michael Bennett’s production of A Chorus Line won nine Tony Awards and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama when it opened on Broadway in 1975 and went on to become the then longest running musical on Broadway achieving an astonishing 6137 performances. It features some of musical theatre’s best loved songs: One (Singular Sensation), What I Did For Love, I Can Do That, Hello Twelve, Hello Thirteen, Hello Love and Hope I Get It.

Booking for A Chorus Line continues until Saturday August 31 2013.
