    Shows in the West End

Shows in the West End can vary from a dramatic play, to an uplifting, feel good musical. Whatever your taste, the West End has something to offer everyone.

There are many amazing shows currently being staged in the West End so if you find yourself at a loss at the weekend, or want to desperately see one of the up and coming shows, be sure to make a visit to theatre land or check your favourite internet ticketing agent for cheap theatre tickets and last minute bargains.

Some of the long running musicals are still proving as popular as ever with shows like The Lion King, Mamma Mia, Les MiserablesBilly Elliot and Phantom of The Opera. If you are thinking to yourself, ‘well I’ve seen most of those’, then why not consider some of the new recent musicals like Charlie And The Chocolate Factory, or the wildly popular revival of Cats the musical at the London Palladium. Most are suitable for kids, and adults alike, so take the family, or a friend or loved one, as the whole theatre experience is not to be missed!

Plays tend to have a shorter run than musicals, but if it is very successful producers often consider extending it, and may introduce new cast members.

There are not so many long running classic plays in the west end, but these few are still topping the popularity charts - Mousetrap (The world's longest-running play of any kind is now in its 64th year!) and Woman in Black (celebrating over 25 terrifying years!)

The 39 Steps has been running for 9 years, and the award winning War Horse has secured its place as one of the best plays around, receiving Olivier, Evening Standard and Critic Choice awards.
