The Kinks musical Sunny Afternoon was the big winner at the Olivier Awards 2015, taking home a 4 awards in total.
The winners have been announced for the 2015 Olivier Awards, the most important night in Theatreland which took place last night at London’s prestigious Royal Opera House.
SUNNY AFTERNOON stole the night with four Olivier Award wins.
Dame Angela Lansbury won the award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her performance in Blithe Spirit.
Penelope Wilton and Mark Strong both won Best Actress and Best Actor respectively with Mark Strong's A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE winning three awards.
Brilliant new shows Beautiful, The Carole King Musical and Memphis also won two Olivier Awards each last night.
WICKED won the hotly contested This Morning Audience Award, the only category voted for by members of the public. Wicked beat out strong competition from other West End favourites Billy Elliot, Matilda and Jersey Boys.
