Keep reading to find out my pick of the 5 best shows for Dad's in The West End, that I'm sure will include one that is perfect for your father. Why hunt around for a boring Father's Day gift when we present the Best shows in London for Dad this Father's Day.

    5) Yes, Prime Minister - Apollo Theatre

This award winning comedy returns to the West End starring Simon Williams and Richard McCabe in a hilarious version written specifically for the stage by original writers Antony Jay and Jonathan Lynn.
Yes, Prime Minister finds British PM Jim Hacker and Cabinet Secretary Sir Humphrey Appleby running a country facing up to financial meltdown. Their only hope for salvation lies with some morally dubious allies, which leads, as one might expect, to deliciously comic consequences.

    4) Cool Hand Luke - Aldwych Theatre

This one won't be opening until September but you could still get him tickets, then he has something to look forward to! In a powerful new adaption for the stage by Emma Reeves, based on Donn Pearce's acclaimed novel, and directed by Andrew Loudon, Cool Hand Luke is the raw, uncompromising take of sticking it to the man. Starring Marc Warren (Hustle, Mad Dogs) as the charismatic rebel, Cool Hand Luke is the hard-hitting story of a true original. He'll play it real cool in the face of brutality. He'll always get back up after a beating. He'll eat fifty eggs in an hour a bet. A man who won't conform no matter what it costs.

    3) 39 Steps - Criterion Theatre

John Buchan’s gripping whodunit – memorably filmed by Alfred Hitchcock in 1935 – is now thrillingly adapted for the stage, and transfers to the Criterion Theatre after a sensational sell-out run at the Tricycle Theatre. This blissfully funny show follows the incredible adventures of our handsome hero Richard Hannay, complete with stiff-upper-lip, British gung-ho and pencil moustache as he encounters dastardly murders, double-crossing secret agents, and, of course, devastatingly beautiful women. This wonderfully inventive and gripping comedy thriller features four fearless actors, playing 139 roles in 100 minutes of fast-paced fun and thrilling action.

    2) Rock Of Ages - Shaftesbury Theatre
Also opening in September this Musical will be Starring Justin Lee Collins as bar owner and ageing hippy, Dennis Dupree. It’s the story of a small town girl meeting a big city rocker in LA's most famous Rock Club. It's an arena rock love story based in 1987 with the hits of Journey, Night Ranger, Styx, Reo Speedwagon, Pat Benatar, Twisted Sister, Poison, Asia Whitesnake and many more.

    1) We Will Rock You - Dominion Theatre
This one is sure to please any Dad. Opening at the Dominion Theatre in 2002, We Will Rock You is a musical based on the songs of Queen. The musical was written by British comedian and author Ben Elton in collaboration with Queen members Brian May and Roger Taylor. We Will Rock You is set in the future, on a place once known as Earth. Globalisation is complete. Everyone watches the same movies, wears the same clothes and thinks the same thoughts. A safe, happy, Ga Ga world. The company computers generate the music and the kids download it. All musical instruments are banned, but resistance is growing. A hero is needed. Is the one who calls himself Galileo the man? can he help them break free? If your Dad is a fan of Queen or Freddy Mercury then he will love We Will Rock You.

And if you simply can't decide or are not sure what your Dad would like then another good option is Theatre Vouchers. You can buy them in multiples of £10.00 and they are valid for 1 year. He can then decide for himself what he would like to see and takes the pressure off you a little bit. So if you have not yet got him a Father's Day gift, then get online and get booking!
