Additional casting announced for Pinter at the Pinter season

Additional casting has been announced for Jamie Lloyd’s Pinter at the Pinter season, which kicked off on 6 September 2018 with Pinter One: One For The Road/New World Order/Mountain Language/Ashes to Ashes. The season's opener features an all-star cast that includes Antony Sher, Jonathan Glew, Jonjo O’Neill, Kate O’Flynn, Maggie Steed, Paapa Essiedu and the voice of Michael Gambon.

Joining the company for this unprecedented season that celebrates Harold Pinter and his many short plays are Abbie Finn, Al Weaver, Bríd Brennan, Dwane Walcott, Eleanor Matsuura, Isis Hainsworth, Janie Dee, John Heffernan, Katherine Kingsley, Peter Polycarpou, Robert Glenister and Tom Edden.

Tom Edden (Amadeus, Les Miserables, Star Wars episode VII – The Force Awakens) is set to join Keith Allen, Lee Evans, Meera Syal and Tamsin Greig in Pinter Three: Landscape/A Kind of Alaska/Monologue.

Al Weaver, Bríd Brennan, Dwane Walcott, Isis Hainsworth, Janie Dee, Peter Polycarpou, and Robert Glenister are all set to star in Pinter Four: Moonlight/Night School, which is directed by Ed Stambollouian and Lyndsey Turner and stars the previously announced Jessica Barden.

Eleanor Matsuura (set to star in the next season of The Walking Dead) and Katherine Kingsley (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Dusty) will complete the cast of Pinter Six: Party Time/Celebration, starring alongside Abraham Popoola, Celia Imrie, Gary Kemp, John Simm, Phil Davis, Ron Cook and Tracy-Ann Oberman.

John Heffernan will join Danny Dyer (Nativity! The Musical) and Martin Freeman in Pinter Seven: A Slight Ache/The Dumb Waiter, starring as Edward in Pinter’s comic play A Slight Ache.

It was recently announced that Mark Rylance would be giving two charity performances of Pinter’s Nobel Prize Lecture entitled Art, Truth & Politics in support of the Stop the War charity. The performances take place on two separate nights at 6pm on the 2nd and 4th of October only. Rylance’s performances are free to attend when you present a valid ticket for that night’s corresponding Pinter production. £10 from every ticket sold for these two performances will be donated to the organisation. Rylance will also be taking part in a special Q&A session on 2 October.

Pinter One: One For The Road/New World Order/Mountain Language/Ashes to Ashes features the world premiere of the newly discovered Pinter sketch entitled The Pres and an Officer, which is a satirical “anarchic attack on the Presidency.”

The Harold Pinter season marks the 10th anniversary of the late playwright’s death and it was organised by The Jamie Lloyd Company and Pinter’s wife Lady Antonia Fraser. It is presented by ATG Productions, Benjamin Lowy Productions, Gavin Kalin Productions, Glass Half Full Productions and The Jamie Lloyd Company. Featuring many of the playwright's rarely staged plays, poems and sketches, this is one cultural event you won’t want to miss!

Pinter One: One For The Road/New World Order/Mountain Language/Ashes to Ashes is booking until 20 October 2018 and is currently running side-by-side with Pinter Two: The Lover/Collection, which also closes on 20 October 2018 and stars David Suchet, Hayley Squires, John Macmillan and Russel Tovey.

Pinter Three: Landscape/A Kind of Alaska/Monologue opens at the Harold Pinter Theatre on 25 October 2018.
