After three sell-out seasons in 2012, 2013 and 2016, Simon Callow will be reprising his role as the greedy miser, Ebenezer Scrooge, in the unique adaptation of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. The highly anticipated revival will open at the Arts Theatre on 8 December 2018. Tense, exciting, and emotionally uplifting, A Christmas Carol is one of the greatest ghost stories ever told that shows it’s never too late to have a change of heart.

Director and designer Tom Cairns together with Simon Callow have concocted a one-of-a-kind, fast-moving, funny and touching production that will have you feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. In this classic Christmas tale beloved by many, Dickens takes us on a bitter man’s journey of self-discovery as the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future help Scrooge open his eyes to the causes and effects of his cruel actions. Will humanity continue to be Scrooged by the selfishness of Ebenezer, or will Ebenezer learn to embrace the true Christmas spirit?

A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens is one of the most popular books in the English language. It has been told year after year for many generations and has been countlessly adapted into films and for the television and the stage. The adaption made for Dickens’ own public performances will be brought to life by the wonderful Simon Callow on 8 December 2018 at the Arts Theatre where it will continue until 12 January 2019.
