We saw Oklahoma the night before it closed. The energy was so high and the actors so engaged. We loved the show and were impressed that 11 people could fill the theatre with so much beautiful sound.

I am a lover of the Rodgers & Hammerstein musicals, had not read any reviews of the theatre show, and was looking forward to a glorious, colourful, musical extravaganza. Instead, it was a completely modern take done on the cheap - no sets, no orchestra, no colourful costumes. It was soulless, emotionless, cold, drab, grey, resembling a rehearsal. The two main characters had no personality, and elderly, warm Aunt Eller was played by a young, brash woman who sat with her legs wide apart, and the music was played by a tin pot band, the violin being the most annoying. It was uninspiring, and I felt uninvolved. In fact, it was annoying. The only time I engaged with it was when Ado Annie, the pedlar, and Will Parker were in action. My husband and I felt cheated because we had paid over £200 for prime seats in the middle of the stalls.
