The spring blossoms have come and gone and it’s already time to roll into summer. A new season and a new month bring another wave of out with the old and in with new. Sadly, there are some superb shows closing this June and we’re going to be sad to wave them off, but thankfully there is still time to see some of them if you’re sure to act quick! If you don’t catch these marvellous productions before the final curtain call, then you’ll miss out altogether as these shows are definite must-sees.
Man of La Mancha (closes 8 June)
This semi-staged concert production has seen the return of this Tony Award-winning musical in the West End for the first time in over 40 years. Thankfully, Michael Linnit and Michael Grade have returned to the London Coliseum with Man of La Mancha; another successful collaboration with the English National Opera. This sensational show stars award-winning actor Kelsey Grammer, opera soprano Danielle de Niese, West End star Cassidy Janson and Only Fools and Horses actor Nicholas Lyndhurst. Be sure to catch this play within a play, written by Dale Wasserman and with incredible music from Mitch Leigh, paired with lyrics from Joe Darion. Prepare yourself to be blown away by this fantastic cast led by Grammer, as they deliver numbers such as ‘I, Don Quixote’, ‘Little Bird’, ‘I Really Like Him’, and of course, the renowned ‘The Impossible Dream’. If you haven’t already seen this critically and publicly acclaimed show, then don’t wait to book your tickets. You wouldn’t want to have to wait another 40 years for a West End revival, would you?!

Vincent River (closes 22 June)
In 2001, Philip Ridley’s modern classic Vincent River first premiered at the Hampstead Theatre and became a hit when it received critical acclaim. The current production was revived last year in 2018 at the Park Theatre and made a transfer to London’s Trafalgar Studios. Focusing on the struggles of love, hate and loss, this dark drama explores the severe consequences of hate crimes. Even though this play first premiered nearly 20 years ago, the themes remain ever topical today. Louise Jameson (Doctor Who) and young star Thomas Mahy star in Robert Chevara’s acclaimed production, reprising their roles after their run at Park Theatre. This limited run will come to an end sooner than we’d like but at least there’s still time to catch it, so be sure to act quick.

Education Education Education (closes 29 June)
After sell-out runs at both the Wardrobe Theatre in Bristol and Bristol’s Old Vic, The Wardrobe Ensemble’s Education Education Education transfers to London’s Trafalgar Studios. Once again, the company brings us another inventive production, packed full of their trademark humour; meaning this award-winning play likes to test boundaries by pushing them and taking risks. Daring as ever, this new piece from The Wardrobe Ensemble will challenge your beliefs with its thought-provoking play, set in May 1997 at a time that shaped our political history. Despite being set over 20 years ago, this show will prove its relevancy, closing the time gap and inspiring London’s Theatre scene. This play is only here for a short run so make sure you get tickets whilst you still can!

Three Sisters (closes 29 June)
Three Sisters, considered one of Anton Chekhov’s greatest works, has been brought to life by one of Russia’s most prestigious theatre companies, here in London’s West End at the Vaudeville Theatre. The Maly Drama Theatre of St. Petersburg makes its return after their critically acclaimed productions of Life & Fate and Uncle Vanya last year. Presented in its original form, Russian with English subtitles, watch as the Prozorov family struggle to come to terms with their disillusioned lives. The sisters try to bravely confront the gaps between their desires and their mundane reality. This tale is tragic and yet surprisingly funny, focusing on themes of love, longing and resignation. This super short run is bound to receive similar critical acclaim that this theatre company is known for, and you’re going to want to be sure you don’t miss out so book quickly and securely with us today.
