Oscar Wilde’s Lady Windermere’s Fan is now playing at London's Vaudeville Theatre, directed by Kathy Burke and guest starring the inimitable Jennifer Saunders.
Oscar Wilde’s comedy about love, betrayals and family is now in the West End as part of a year long season of Oscar Wilde at the Vaudeville. On the day of Lady Windermere’s birthday party, all appears to be going well until a seed of discontent is sown leading Lady Windermere to question her husband’s fidelity.
Award winning actor and director Kathy Burke has assembled an astounding comedic cast. Olivier award winner Samantha Spiro plays Mrs Erlynne alongside Kevin Bishop as Lord Darlington. Actor, writer and comedian Jennifer Saunders has returned to the West End stage for the first time in over two decades to guest star as the Duchess of Berwick. Saunders is best known for the tour de force BBC show Absolutely Fabulous, and its subsequent film, as well as the sketch-show French and Saunders.
Former artistic director of Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre Dominic Dromgoole’s new theatre company, Classic Spring, is presenting a yearlong season of Oscar Wilde plays, centring on his Victorian plays. The season includes A Woman of No Importance, De Profundis, The Selfish Giant, An Ideal Husband, and The Importance of Being Earnest.
Lady Windermere's Fan tickets are still available, book them, along with tickets to the rest of the Oscar Wilde season soon!
