Award-winning musical Everybody's Talking About Jamie has confirmed Shobna Gulati for the role of Ray. She will be replacing Jamie veteran Mina Anwar, who played Ray during the show's premiere in Sheffield and reprised her role for the West End transfer. Anwar left the production to pursue other projects.

Shobna Gulati is a soap opera superstar who is best known for playing Anita in dinnerladies, Sunita Alahan in Coronation Street, and Farah Khurana in River City. She also made an appearance in EastEnders, making her among the few actors to have appeared in both EastEnders and Coronation Street.

Her stage credits include Dancing Within Walls at the Contact Theatre in Manchester, The Secret Policeman's Ball at the Royal Albert Hall in London, Pretend You Have Big Buildings at the Royal Exchange in Manchester, Daisy Pulls It Off at the Park Theatre, Anita & Me at the Birmingham Rep and Grease at Leicester Curve.

Gulati joins Lucie Shorthouse, who recently won a WhatsOnStage Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical for her role as Pritti Pasha in Jamie. Other continuing cast members include the ravishing John McCrea as the eponymous Jamie, Tamsin Carroll as Miss Hedge, Phil Nichol as Hugo and Josie Walker as Margaret.

Everybody's Talking About Jamie took home three WhatsOnStage Awards this year, including Best New Musical, and also received an astonishing five Olivier Awards nominations this year.

Find out why Jamie is the talk of the town! This critically acclaimed musical is running at the Apollo Theatre until 6 October 2018. You won't want to miss this spectacular production and its talented diverse cast!
