Marisha Wallace will officially reprise her role as Becky from 6 January 2020. She was subsequently announced a week later to be starring in The Best of The West End: Stage and Screen at the Royal Albert Hall on 9 March 2020. Waitress features a book by Jessie Nelson, direction by Tony Award-winning director Diane Paulus, an original score by seven-time Grammy Award nominee Sara Bareilles, and choreography by Lorin Latarro. The top-tier creatives collectively became the first all-female creative team on Broadway.

The musical is based on the indie film of the same name by the late screenwriter Adrienne Shelly, who was sadly murdered in 2006 before Waitress was screened at the Sundance Film Festival.

The story of Waitress The Musical centres on a southern waitress named Jenna who works at the local diner. She enters a pie baking contest to win the grand prize and escape her abusive husband. Will her dreams come true?
