Posted on | By Nicholas Ephram Ryan Daniels (Updated on Dec 7, 2018)

There are dozens of ways to spread holiday cheer. You could prance around your neighbourhood singing Christmas carols, help friends and family decorate their Christmas tree, purchase the perfect Christmas present, or even bake a delicious peppermint pie. However, lucky for us, Waitress star Katharine McPhee is spreading the Christmas spirit with something a little bit different: a special Christmas-themed Q&A! While we won’t get a taste of her character’s scrumptious pies until February 2019, the actress’s festive interview makes the perfect appetiser!

Christmas came early this year! Read our exclusive, Christmas-themed Q&A with Waitress’s Katharine McPhee below. And don't forget to follow this fabulous actress on Twitter as she's absolutely hilarious - you won't regret it!

1. What are you doing for Christmas this year?
I am going to Lanai this Christmas with my fiancé [David Foster], his family and my mother and sister. We have other friends who will be there on the island as well. It should be a really nice time.

2. What’s your favourite Christmas song?
My favorite Christmas song is virtually off every song & Christmas album my fiancé David has produced. He’s like the king of Christmas. Celine Dion, Josh Groban and Michael Bublé are the best Christmas records and he did all of them. I’m not biased! I swear!

3. Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer (without the help of Google)?
I definitely cannot. Just tried in my head for a second and I knew it was a no go.

4. Will you be seeing any theatre this Christmas?
I will not, unfortunately!

5. What’s the funniest gift you have ever received?
Probably something my grandmother and grandfather gave me. The gifts started to get weirder and weirder over the years. One year it was a spoon. Hope Grandma doesn’t see this.

6. What’s your go-to Christmas film?
Hands down Love Actually

7. Have you ever 'regifted' something before?
I believe I have. Sometimes I get these amazing products from amazing brands like candles or skin products and there is no way I can go through it all. So why not give something regifted if it’s at least something great?

8. What are your Christmas traditions?
Well, as you get older the conventional Christmas traditions change. My mom, sister and I started one a couple years ago… just the 3 of us have a Christmas lunch at a great spot in Beverly Hills called La Scala. It’s all decorated and it’s lively, especially for lunch. We usually do it a couple of days before Christmas.

9. What do you hope to find in your stocking this year?
Oh, I haven’t had a stocking in a long time!! But they were always my favourite part! I always liked finding jewellery… but I don’t ever not enjoy finding jewellery places.

10. Which person would you most like to meet under the mistletoe?
My fiancé and maybe my little pup too. But not at the same time. My fiancé wouldn’t care for that much. Haha.

11. Which Christmas food do you most look forward to?
Stuffing. Always stuffing.

12. What’s your favourite Christmas memory?
When my parents woke us up on Christmas morning with our bags packed and a stretch limo waiting outside. We were flying to Hawaii for a surprise trip to meet all the family there. Back in those days, a stretch limo got me really excited. Now the thought of it makes me queasy.
