Full creative team announced for The Prince of Egypt The Musical at the Dominion Theatre

The full creative team has been announced for the upcoming new musical, The Prince of Egypt, which was adapted for the stage from the original 1998 film of the same name that featured music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, the mastermind behind the musical numbers of Wicked The Musical. Tickets for The Prince of Egypt musical at the West End's Dominion Theatre are on sale now from £24 and up.

London stage musical The Prince of Egypt is produced by DreamWorks Theatricals, Michael McCabe, and Neil Laidlaw. It features a book by Philip LaZebnik (Pocahontas, Mulan) and lyrics and music by Stephen Schwartz. The West End creative team for The Prince of Egypt is set to feature costume design by the Tony Award®-winning Ann Hould-Ward (Disney’s Beauty and the Beast), choreography by Sean Cheesman (So You Think You Can Dance), set design by Chicagoan Kevin Depinet, sound design by the two-time Tony Award® nominated and three-time Olivier Award-winning Gareth Owen, lighting design by the LA Ovation Award-nominated Mike Billings, illusion design by the acclaimed Chris Fisher (Company, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child), projection design by the Tony Award®-nominated and Olivier Award-winning Jon Driscoll (Brief Encounter, Ink), musical supervision and arrangements by Dominick Amendum (Wicked), orchestrations by the Tony Award® and Grammy® Award-nominated and Olivier Award-winning August Eriksmoen (Come From Away), musical direction by Dave Rose (Wicked), and casting direction by Jim Arnold, CDG (Wicked).

The musical will be directed by the previously announced Scott Schwartz (The Hunchback of Notre Dame). The cast for The Prince of Egypt will be announced in due course.

The new stage musical will feature 5 of the acclaimed songs from the original DreamWorks Animation film, including the Academy Award®-winning song, When You Believe featuring powerhouse singers Whitney Houston and Mariah CareyAll I Ever WantedThrough Heaven’s Eyes, Deliver Us, plus 10 brand-new musical numbers also written by Stephen Schwartz. When You Believe was chosen as the winning single for the X-Factor by Simon Cowell and it topped the UK charts for three weeks.

The Prince of Egypt musical plot summary

Embark on an unforgettable adventure through the desert sands and sandstone palace walls of Ancient Egypt as two young siblings, who were raised from birth as royal brothers, find themselves suddenly at odds with each other in their own privileged world. One must take over the throne as Pharaoh whilst the other must take a stand to free his people. Both must come to terms with their own fate that will change the course of history forever.
