Wheeldon Company made their UK debut last year to critical acclaim. Founded by Christopher Wheeldon in 2007 as the world’s first transatlantic ballet company, with a base at both Sadler’s Wells and New York City Center, the company has garnered praise across the world - receiving a South Bank Show Award in 2008.
Programme One features Wheeldon’s award-winning Polyphonia plus a brand new work by Wheeldon for nine dancers set to the music of Igor Stravinsky, and a new commission from former Ballet Frankfurt dancer Emily Molnar.
Programme Two includes works by Sir Frederick Ashton and Annabelle Lopez Ochoa plus Wheeldon’s sublime Fools’ Paradise, which was performed at the company’s London debut in 2007 and described by The Guardian as “a piece of almost distracting beauty”.
